Casey Park Community Meeting

The Recreation Department will hold a community meeting about Casey Park tonight in the Council Chambers in Town Hall.


The Town of Watertown has been planning a renovation of Casey Park for some time, and some of the preliminary work could begin as early as February of 2013.


We want to have an additional meeting with some of the direct abutters to explain the improvements and provide an opportunity to address any of your concerns. We will have a meeting at Town Hall, on Thursday February 14, 2013 at 7 pm in the Council Chambers.

To prepare for this project, there will be some preliminary work completed by the Town along the retaining wall that borders the facility and abuts the rear of the properties along Union Street and Capitol Street.


As was outlined in the Casey Park Community Meetings, the Town of Watertown owns as much as seven feet from the retaining wall towards the rear of the homes on Union Street. At present, some of this area is overgrown with vegetation and is not ready for the contractor to perform their duties. To this end some vegetation, including trees, must be removed to accommodat
