Jim Kelly Quartet offers an alternative to
St. Patrick’s Day entertainment
in the next concert in the JAZZ @ the Arsenal Series.
This concert of original
tunes draws on jazz, blues, Latin and folk traditions. Led by Kelly on guitar, the band members
are: Jim
Odgren/alto sax, Fernando Huergo/electric bass and Casey Scheuerell/drums.

A versatile musician and teacher, Kelly has performed with Gary Burton, Jim Odgren, Duke Robillard
and others. Performance highlights
include a long stint in the orchestra for “Rent” in its original Boston run and recordings
with the Berklee All-Stars and on Duke Robillard’s “Swing” album. His own compositions are featured on “The
Sled Dogs: The Music of Jim Kelly” and a solo acoustic guitar
CD: “Would Be Soundtracks.” A master teacher, Kelly is the author
of the book/CD and DVD: Guitar Workshop with Jim Kelly.
