Jazz vocalist and Berklee College
of Music professor Lisa Thorson will premiere her sixth recording as a leader: Lisa Thorson Quartet LIVE which documents a live performance at Scullers Jazz Club. It celebrates the collaboration, kinship and
musical interplay of 20+ years between her and Tim Ray, piano, David
Clark, bass and George Schuller, drums.
“Nothing
can replace the energy, the charge, the surprise, the exchange of ideas and the
roller coaster of improvising. I could
not have been luckier than to have had this opportunity to capture the work of
our quartet ion this night,” she comments.
Known for her heartfelt renditions of standards and originals,
vocalist Thorson brings a “grand…sassy and seductive” style to her music
