"My Life in the Law:" A Conversation with Alan Dershowitz

The New Center for Arts & Culture presents celebrated defense attorney Alan Dershowitz and president of Brandeis University Frederick M. Lawrence to discuss Dershowitz’s new memoir, “Taking the Stand.” A tenured professor at Harvard Law School since the age of 28, Dershowitz has led or been part of the defense teams for such storied clients as O.J. Simpson, Claus von Bulow, Bill Clinton, Julian Assange, Jeffrey MacDonald, Patty Hearst, and Mike Tyson. Dershowitz will discuss the evolution of his legal opinions on the First Amendment, national security, DNA testing, and human rights.

Alan Dershowitz – Alan Dershowitz is an American lawyer, jurist, and political commentator. He is a prominent scholar on United States constitutional law and criminal law. He has spent most of his career at Harvard Law School where, in 1967, at the age of 28, he became the youngest full-time professor of law in its history.

Frederick Lawrence – Formerly the dean of George Washington University Law School, Frederick Lawrence is now the president of Brandeis University. He is one of the nation’s leading experts on civil rights, free expression, and bias crimes.
