Orphan Rugs: Handworks of Armenian Orphans & Widows 1896-1930
Please join us for the opeing reception and presentation.   This exhibition features selections from the Museum's permanent collection chosen by Textile Curator Susan Lind-Sinanian. These rugs, laces and other objects spotlight the plight of Armenian refugees. Dr. H. Martin Deranian, author of 'President Calvin Coolidge and the Orphan Rug' will present a talk on the production of orphan rugs, the most famous of which is the Coolidge Rug at the White House.
