Pushups For Charity - Newton / Watertown

One of the first things we all learn as we begin our adventure into fitness is the pushup. It was that thing in gym class no one really wanted to do, but we did them anyway.

This movement, over time has become the basic exercise and measure of upper body strength used in school physical education, fitness, general sports, military training and martial arts conditioning. It is a great tool, strengthening and teaching the first steps to get up after being knocked down.

About four years ago, the humble pushup took on another role. A group of like minded individuals came together wanting to do something to honor our service men and women. Together they created “Pushups for Charity.” A fundraising event where people can come together to get fit, have fun and make a difference.

Forever Fit Fitness Center has joined the Pushups for Charity team and become an official host location. This means that on May 10th and 11:00am a throng of members, including members from Bootcamp and Forever Crossfit, thier family and friends will descend upon the gym and be part of this grand event.

The event is free and open to anyone and everyone who is capable of doing pushups or would like to learn how to do pushups. We encourage everyone, participating or not to come and enjoy the atmosphere and have fun with our community. All we ask for is a small donation or a fixed amount for every pushup accomplished.
