Watertown Resident Thanks Police for Swift Recovery of Stolen Jewelry

A Prentiss Street resident had his rings worth $50,000 returned within 48 hours of being stolen.

Prentiss Street resident Freddie Zartarian discovered he had been robbed of more than $50,000 worth of jewelry last week, and he was amazed when Watertown Police came to tell him that they had found a couple days later.

"I wanted to thank the Police," Zartarian said. "They had the guy within 48 hours."

Detectives David MacNeil and Jennifer Connors worked on Zartarian's case. He said the items were taken by a man who was doing work on his house, and they turned up at a local jewelry store when the suspect sold them.

Zartarian is still missing some chains with crosses on them, but he was thankful that the three rings were recovered.
