Where Do Drivers Speed Most in Watertown?

Let's see if there's a consensus.

We all know there are spots where people tend to speed in Watertown?

Tell us in the comments section which are the most dangerous and might need a raised section, a stop sign, more crosswalks or another measure to slow down traffic. Then, next Wednesday we'll run a poll based on the top five answers we received in the callout.

Lexington Street to Warren Street, Watertown is a real drag way with no posted speed limits. How can we get a speed limit sign posted on this section? Cars travel at 35 to 40 mph and sometimes more. It is dangerous to children, seniors and everyone other cars included. Does one have to wait for a series of accidents to occur before getting a speed limit sign posted?

Sycamore Street between Belmont St and Lexington St. It's like the Indy500 during rush hour over there. That road needs some speed bumps, stop signs, SOMETHING to slow cars down before someone gets hit. Complete free-for-all.

Those yellow trucks on Orchard Street go flying past Victory Field.

How does one petition the Police Department for a speed Limit sign?

Definitly on lexington street I am so sick of ere and seeing all the cars racing up and down the street all times of the day. So many people walk on both sides of that street.

I believe you need to contact the Traffic Commission. You can reach them through the Police Department, 617-972-6500

Sunset Rd to Avon Rd is a wicked cut through to avoid the light at Common and Belmont
