WSB Customer Choice Awards Voting Deadline is December 31!

December 27, 2013- The voting deadline in Watertown Savings Bank’s (WSB) annual customer choice awards is Tuesday, December 31, 2013

“We encourage every customer to submit a vote.  It is a tremendous opportunity for their favorite local non-profit to receive much needed funds,” says WSB CEO Ron Dean.

The bank plans to give away $75,000 to customer choice award winners in 2014.  The program, in its 18th year, has distributed more than $750,000 to nearly 100 local non-profits.  It allows WSB customers, the opportunity to vote for their favorite local, non-profit organization.  Every qualified non-profit that earns at least one percent of the total votes received is awarded funds.  Funds are distributed according to the voting results.  To qualify the organization must serve the local community in some way and have 501c(3) status.  Religious and political organizations are ineligible.  Charitable organizations within a church community are eligible.

Anyone with a Watertown Savings Bank account can vote.  Every customer gets one vote.  Bank customers can go to the watertownsavings.com homepage to cast their vote.  The online voting system lists several different organizations from each of the six towns where there are bank branches: Watertown, Arlington, Belmont, Lexington, Newton, and Waltham.  These are not the only eligible organizations.  There is a place to “write-in” an organization’s name, if it is not already listed.

Those without access to a computer can pick up paper ballots at any WSB branch location.  The maximum amount distributed to any one organization is $3,500.  Funds are distributed at an awards ceremony held each year in March.  For further information please contact Kelly Cronin:  kcronin@watertownsavings.com
