Fraud Prevention Talk at the Watertown Mall

WATERTOWN, September 16, 2013—As part of the Watertown Mall’s Free Health Lecture Series, the Watertown Police Department (WPD) and Watertown Savings Bank (WSB) are teaming up to give a Fraud Prevention Talk, on Friday, October 4th, at 10 a.m.  The lecture will be held at the Old Country Buffet, inside the Watertown Mall.

Scam artists use clever schemes to defraud millions of people each year.  Being on guard and keeping informed about their ever-changing methods will minimize chances of being defrauded.  Attendees will learn how to recognize common scams, and how to avoid them.  Detective David MacNeil of the WPD and WSB Security Officer Craig McKenna will share stories about some of the newest fraud attempts being seen in this area.  WSB Marketing Officer Carole Katz will provide brochures and a short video on steps to take in order to minimize exposure to fraud.

There is no registration required.  This event is free, and open to the public.  For more information, please contact the Watertown Mall at 617-926-4968, or visit www.watertown-mall.com
