Watertown Education Foundation Presents Dancing with the Stars

On Friday, March 14, 2014 the Watertown Education Foundation (WEF) will hold its second fundraising event of the year, “Dancing With the Stars”.   The event, modeled after the popular television show, will feature Watertown residents partnered with professional dancers from the Avalon Dance Studio in Belmont.  The celebrity dancers include: Renee Gaudette, Watertown Boys and Girls Club; Ron LeSanto, Watertown Savings Bank; Lisa Keuchkarian, The Talk Restaurant; Phil Oates, Watertown Middle School; Terri Caporiccio, Cunniff School; Elaine Antonellis, Watertown Public Schools; and Peter Centola, Watertown Recreation Department.

“The Spelling Bee has been a great success but, it is an event for children.  Dancing with the Stars is a night out for adults and a chance for the community to support the Teacher Grant Fund,” said Amy Donohue, WEF President.  “It should be a great night and lots of fun; all members of the Watertown community are welcome to the event.”
Avalon Dance Studio instructors have been working with the celebrity dancers for the past two weeks and will continue on a rigorous practice schedule right up to the event.  Professional dancers from various studios and dance organizations will serve as judges.  The winners will be announced at the end of the event.
Dancing with the Stars will be held at the American Legion Post 440, 295 California Street, Newton and is open to the public – tickets can be purchased on-line at www.watertowned.org; $25 regular seating or $35 for Gold Circle tickets (first two rows).  No tickets will be sold at the door.  Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails begin at 6:00 and competition begins promptly at 7:30.  There will also be a silent auction, and cash bar.  For more information, please contact WEF board member Lorena Moynihan: Lorena.moynihan@gmail.com
