PETER KOUTOUJIAN MEETS WITH VOTERS IN WATERTOWN; DISCUSSES IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE FIFTH DISTRICT

Peter Koutoujian visited St. James’ Armenian Church in Watertown on Saturday then greeted voters at the Watertown Armenian Festival. Along the way he spoke with voters and supporters about his plans to stand strong for women’s rights, stand up to the NRA, and stand firm with the middle class in Congress.

“Republicans want to defund Planned Parenthood while they take money from the NRA,” said Koutoujian. “They’re attacking Main Street and laying back on Wall Street.  I’m running for Congress to stand up to that type of backwards logic.  Let’s make equal pay for equal work a reality, no matter your gender.  Let’s ban assault weapons and high capacity clips, because weapons of war don’t belong in our communities.  And let’s safeguard and strengthen Social Security and Medicare.  We made our senior citizens a promise and I’ll make sure Congress doesn’t back out of that deal.”

Laura Michael greeted Koutoujian at the festival, saying, “Sometimes it feels like Peter can’t stay away from Watertown. He’ll see us at community events or at our doors and ask what issues matter most to us.  We tell him it’s the same ones he’s always tackled, like standing up for women’s rights, standing up to the NRA, and standing up with the middle class.  That’s why I’m supporting his bid for Congress: he’s got a proven track record of standing up for my issues and winning for me.”
