Brian Shutt of Florida and formerly of Watertown died on Nov. 21 at the age of 59.
He moved to Florida three years ago and worked as a self-employed contractor. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1971, according to an obituary on the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home website.
He was the son of Joseph F. and Ann (Naughton) Shutt of Gloucester; brother of Mary McHugh of Acton, Barbara Shutt Quinn of Virginia; Heather Shutt Haase of Tennessee, Charles J. Shutt of Gloucester and Joseph M. Shutt of Reading. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Anna-Sofia and Siobhan Haase of Tennessee, Ashley J. and Joseph K. Shutt of Reading and the late Matthew J. McHugh.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. in Watertown, on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9 am. Visiting hours will be at at the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St. in Watertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Brian’s name may be made to The Charles J. Shutt Detachment, 215 Mt Auburn St., Watertown, MA 02472.
