John Lattanzi, 98, of Watertown, World War II Veteran

John "Giovanni" Lattanzi died on Sept. 3 at the age of 98.

He was a World War II veteran, a lifetime member of the Watertown Sons of Italy and former member of the Laborers Union Local 560 of Waltham, according to an obituary on the DeVito Funeral Home website.

He was the husband of Ester (Marinilli) Lattanzi; son of the late Giovanni and Assunta (Mastrodomenico) Lattanzi; father of Ottavio Lattanzi and his wife Kathryn of Bowdoinham, Maine, Gino Lattanzi and his wife Susan of Winchester and Orazio Lattanzi of Dallas, Texas; grandfather of Lorenza, Stephen, Daniel, Victoria and Olivia; and brother of the late Charles Lattanzio and Pettorina Vitone.

Funeral from the DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mount Auburn St., in Watertown on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Watertown. Burial to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
