LETTER: Steve Aylward Thanks His Supporters in the GOP State Committee Man Race

Aylward plans to immediately start working to help the Republicans in the November elections and work closely with the Ward and Town committees.

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the all the voters of the Second Suffolk and Middlesex district who braved the blustery weather on March 6 to vote in the Presidential Primary, State Committee and Town Committee races. And of course I’d like to thank all those who supported my effort to become the new Republican State Committeeman from our district. There are too many to thank individually, but I could not have won without the help of dozens of volunteers who did all the hard work.

I would also like to mention Mr. Robert Semonian, the outgoing incumbent. Bob has served the Republican Party and indeed our community very well for many decades.I look forward to continuing to work with him as a fellow Republican and Town Committee member. His knowledge and experience are assets to our party. His dedication and loyalty to the Republican brand are second to none. I hope that I can continue in the tradition that Bob has established.

As the new State Committeeman, I hope to hit the ground running. We have a very important election in November. Working with my counterpart Elizabeth Mahoney, it is our hope to field as many candidates up and down the ballot as possible. It is also our intention to work closely with all the Ward and Town committees in the district. Some need help recruiting members and others need help with organization, and still others need help with fundraising and candidate recruitment. In any case, it will be only through the work and dedication of grassroots activists that we will succeed.
