3 Members of the Watertown Police Force Earn Promotions

The police force has a new lieutenant and two new sergeants, including the first woman to be promoted to sergeant.

The following information was released by the Watertown Police Department:

The Watertown Police Department is pleased to announce the recent promotions of Sgt. Edward Kasabian to Police Lieutenant, Officer Sheila Grady-Duguay to Police Sergeant and Officer George Demos to Police Sergeant.

Lt. Kasabian is a 29-year veteran of the police department. He has worked in the patrol division, traffic division and most recently in the Prosecutor’s unit. He will return to the night Patrol Division as an Officer in Charge.

Sgt. Grady-Duguay is a 10-year veteran of the police department. She has served as a school resource officer and more recently assigned to the night patrol division. Sgt. Grady-Duguay’s promotion is special for the Watertown PD as she is the first female to be promoted to a supervisor [rank of sergeant or higher] in the department’s history. Sgt. Grady-Duguay will remain in the night patrol division as a patrol supervisor.

Sgt. Demos is a 6-year veteran of the police department. He was recently assigned to the night patrol division and his new assignment will be in the Administrative Services Division on the day shift. The promotion took place on Friday April 20, 2012 in the community room of the Police Station.
