Best Buy Employee in Hot Water for Pulling Scam

Watertown Police arrested a Best Buy employee who allegedly took several items from the store and sold them.

The store asset protection office investigated the thefts and identified the employee taking merchandise as Joshua Masterson of Boston, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.

“He was taking them from the store and selling them,” Grady said. “He was arrested for stealing in excess of $2,000 (in merchandise).”

The items allegedly taken include a Samsung Galaxy tablet, a Microsoft Surface tablet and multiple Apple iPhone 4Ss, Grady said.

Joshua Masterson, 25, of 59 West Eagle St. in Boston, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
