A 26-year-old Brighton man faces larceny charges after he tried to get some "free" accessories while waiting for his new cell phone to be activated at Best Buy in Watertown.
On June 30 at 5:45 p.m., store employees called police when they realized a man how had just bought a phone also took a Lifeproof cell phone case and a Bose Bluetooth accessory, worth a total of $259.99, said Watertown Sgt. Thomas Grady.
"Security was able to identify the suspect," Grady said. "They had the (cell phone) contract he signed with his phone numbers on it."
Police contacted the man and he eventually returned the items, but not right away, Grady said.
"He didn't cooperate at first," Grady said.
Watertown Police will seek a warrant from Waltham District Court for larceny for the 26-year-old Brighton man, Grady said.
