Connecticut Woman Caught Stealing $100s Worth of Golf Balls in Watertown

The store received a tip about a pair stealing from another branch of the store.

Watertown Police arrested a Connecticut woman who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars worth of golf balls from Golf Town, and a second woman also faces charges connected to the incident.

Employee at store in the Arsenal Mall received a warning that the Golf Town in Bellingham had been hit by shoplifters. The suspects were described as two women in their early 20s in a red Honda with Connecticut license plates, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

On Feb. 14 at 6:36 p.m. Golf Town's manager called police because of a suspicious customer.

"They had just observed a woman fitting the description enter the store and leave and get into a red car," Lawn said.

Employees discovered eight cases of golf balls were missing, worth $400, Lawn said.

The car soon returned, Lawn said.

"The same car pulled up and a second female entered the store and began placing golf balls into her pocket book," Lawn said. "She had $288.94 worth of golf balls in her pocket book."

The woman was arrested and her partner will also face charges, Lawn said.

Larissa Rose Arabolos, 22, of 204 Lakeview Ave. in Hamden, Conn., was arrested on a charge of larceny of over $250, Lawn said.

A 21-year-old New Haven, Conn., woman will be summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of larceny over $250, Lawn said.
