Couple Caught Trying to Steal Hundreds Worth of Electronics from Best Buy in Watertown

The man and woman kept on coming back for more items before security detained them.

Security at Best Buy spotted a man and a woman walking into and out of the store, each time leaving with another item. When they were stopped, the pair had taken five items worth more than $1,300.

First one person took a 24-inch television worth $250 during the incident which occured on Oct. 3 at 8:03 p.m., said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. 

"They returned to the store, and security saw them take a remote control and an X Box game, put them in a bag and leave the store," Lawn said.

The remote control is worth $349.99 and the  X Box game cost $59.99, Lawn said.

When Best Buy security stopped them, they also found they had two pairs of headphones, Lawn said, one worth $299 and the second $349.

The two suspects, a 30-year-old woman from Waltham and a 30-year-old man from Marlborough, will be summonsed to Waltham District Court on shoplifting charges, Lawn said.
