On the afternoon of Dec. 14, Watertown Police officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Victoria's Secret in the Arsenal Mall. Officers spoke to an employee who said a woman had attempted to steal several items: she had entered the dressing room with two bras and a bottle of perfume, but departed with one less bra. Also, a man who had placed his wallet on the counter told officers his wallet went missing. Police arrested the woman for larceny of the wallet, which she had in her hand. Police searched the woman and also found the missing bra. Tatica S. Reaves Quarshie, 37, of Boston, was arrested and charged with larceny from a person, shoplifting by stealing merchandise (3rd offense) and three warrant charges: http://patch.com/A-02dz
The Guy Who Got Away
Watertown Police got word Dec. 18 that Belmont Police had been chasing a stolen car which had entered Watertown. The 2002 Ford Explorer entered Watertown on Hovey Street, then down Orchard Street and onto Marion Road. The suspect dumped the car next to Victory Field and fled into the woods. Watertown cops got help from a State Police K-9 unit, searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate him: http://patch.com/A-01YK
Newton Police responded to a call from Noble Street on Dec. 16; the owner of a 2007 Honda Pilot said she found her vehicle been moved about 30 feet across her driveway sometime overnight. 'I'm Just Resting Before I Make My Left Turn'
A North Easton, Mass. man was arrested Dec. 16 after Newton police found him passed out behind the wheel of his car, which was still running. Police say they found a black 2007 Audi A-3 in the left travel lane with the engine running and the driver's head all the way back against the seat's headrest. Reports say police tried several times to wake up the driver, report. Because the driver could not stand up on his own, police determined he was drunk and placed him under arrest.
