Pair of Teens Busted for String of Car Break Ins

The pair was spotted checking car doors on Cottage Street in Watertown.

Residents spotted a group of youths acting suspiciously around cars in Watertown and were busted for breaking into vehicles along Cottage Street.

On Aug. 14 at 1:14 a.m., the group was seen by residents with a balcony that overlooked a parking lot, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

“They were pulling on car door (handles) and possibly breaking into cars,” Lawn said.

Police located the youths and found they had a backpack with a pair of bolt cutters, three GPS devices and other item that had been taken from a vehicle in the area, Lawn said.

Both Kedwin T. Cruz, 17, of 363 Evereteze Way in Cambridge, and a 16-year-old male from Cambridge were arrested on charges of nighttime breaking and entering for a felony, possession of a burglarious instrument, larceny over $250, five counts of receiving stolen property over $250 and six counts of receiving stolen property under $250.
