Police from Georgia Deliver a Special Gift to Watertown Police

The officers cam bearing a check for the One Fund.

In June, two Watertown Police officers headed down to Georgia to help promote a road race that raised money for the One Fund, and this weekend three officers delivered the check to Watertown.

The officers from LaGrange, Ga., presented a check for $8,000 for the One Fund to Watertown Police Chief Edward Deveau.

Before they made the official donation, some of Watertown's finest showed their guests around the Boston area, said Watertown Police officer Rick Munger.

"We had a really good time," Munger said. "We did a tour of Fenway Park and ended up taking them to the Patriots game."

While visitors from Georgia found the game time temperatures colder than they were used to, they caught a historic comeback by the Patriots, Munger said.

"They were big sports fans, so even seeing Fenway Park was a big deal," Munger said. "Then we saw that game."
