The following information was supplied by the Wayland Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

I'm confused about the "confirmed hunters" - there's no hunting in any town conservation lands, is there (http://www.wayland.ma.us/pages/WaylandMA_Conservation/areas2)? So what happened with the "confirmed hunters"?

Hi Kim, I'll see if I can follow up on this next week, but there's nothing here that says the hunting was taking place on conservation land ... even if that seems most likely. Perhaps the sounds of the gunshots carried further than expected? Or the shots were fired on private property? It's a good question and I'll see what I can find out.
