Police: Man Falsely Reported Armed House Invasion in Watertown
Police investigated the incident and found the crime did not happen.
Watertown Police said the report of an armed home invasion by two men on Sunday was made falsely.
The incident was reported by a Palmer Road man on Sunday, but the story appears to have changed.
"After a thorough investigation regarding the breaking and entering reported on Palmer Street, police discovered the incident did not take place," said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
Police continue to investigate what happened that day, Lawn said, and charges may be filed against the man who made the false police report. Police have not released the name of the man.
