Shout Out to 2 Watertown Pizza Places for Donations During Madison Ave. Fire

A reader thanked the efforts of Pizza Roma and Gerry's Italian Kitchen who helped feed the Watertown firefighters who battled the two-alarm blaze.

While Watertown firefighters fought the flames that struck a two-family home on Madison Avenue last week, two local pizzerias lent a hand by providing food for the members of the Fire Deparment.

Reader Darlene Duest sent in this tip to Watertown Patch: 

"A thanks is in order to Pizza Roma and Gerry's Italian Kitchen for donating pizzas on Tuesday September 18, 2011 to the Watertown firefighters while they fought the 2nd alarm fire at 17 Madison Ave."

The of the home at 17-19 Madison Avenue, but all the residents and their dogs escaped unharmed. Watertown Fire officials determined that a plumber's torch helped spark the fire.
