Teen Arrested After Attack in Watertown's Linear Park

A 15-year-old Watertown boy reported being attacked as he walked along the path near Waverley Avenue.

Watertown Police arrested a 16-year-old Watertown boy after he allegedly attacked a another teen as he walked on Linear Path.

The 15-year-old boy told police he was "jumped" by the other boy when he was on the path between Waverley Avenue and Whites Avenue at 3:13 p.m. on Feb. 1, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Police did not release the name of the 16-year-old boy because he is a minor.

"The 16 year old got on top of the boy and repeatedly struck him in the head," Lawn said. "(The 15 year old) was holding his phone in his hand in an attempt to block his face and the phone shattered."

Police charged the 16-year-old boy with assault and battery and malicious destruction of property, Lawn said.
