Tsarnaev Lawyers Lose Appeal in Marathon Bombing Case
Had looked to make prosecutors reveal more evidence.
Prosecutors in the Boston Marathon Bombing case will not have to turn over additional evidence that would have aided the defense in its effort to oppose the death penalty.
US District Court Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. wrote that bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's lawyers sought the prosecutions' "haystack" in an effort to find a "needle," according to a report in the Boston Globe. Tsarnaev was caught in a boat on Franklin Street in Watertown on April 19 after a shootout with Watertown Police earlier in the day.
The defense wanted access to interviews with Tsarnev's friends and family and his family member's immigration records, according to the report.
