Volkswagen Employee Caught Writing $3,500 in False Checks

The 29-year-old Waltham woman admitted to stealing from the Watertown car dealership.

After an internal investigation, an employee of Boston Volkswagen was caught writing false checks and stealing the money from the business, according to Watertown Police.

The employee, a 29-year-old Waltham woman, wrote a total of $3,500 in false checks, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"When confronted, she admitted to writing the checks," Lawn said.

The woman will be summonsed to Waltham District Court and face a charge of larceny of over $250, Lawn said.
