Watertown Firefighters Honored for the Bravery on April 19

Five members of the Fire Department and the whole department received awards from the State Fire Marshal.

The Watertown Fire Department, and members involved in the night of the shootout with the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects received thanks and recognition for their work at Tuesday's Town Council meeting.

State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan came out the meeting to honor five fire fighters who risked their lives on April 19 to treat MBTA Police Officer Dic Donohue and one of the injured suspects. 

Lt. Arthur Geswell and Firefighters Patrick Menton, James Caruso, Douglas Wood and Timothy Donovan received the medals of valor for their efforts on April 19.

The whole department received an award from Coan for the work after the Marathon bombings.
