Watertown First Responders Honored for Heroics During Shootout

Two firefighters and two police officers received commendations for saving the life of an MBTA officer.

The quick thinking and brave actions of some of Watertown's first responders saved the life of MBTA Police Officer Dic Donohue, and these men received commendations for their actions.

On Wednesday, two Watertown Firefighters - Patrick Menton and James Caruso - and two Watertown Police Officers - Joe Reynolds and Tim Menton - received honors from the MBTA at Faneuil Hall in Boston.

Patrick Menton and Caruso waded into the action during the shootout with the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects on April 19 to tend to Donohue, who was bleeding heavily after being hit by a bullet. And Tim Menton and Reynolds helped stop the bleeding so Donohue could be taken to Mount Auburn Hospital.
