A Watertown man faces charges after getting into an argument with a cab driver, and would not cooperate with police.
Police responded to a report of a fight on Coolidge Avenue on Feb. 14 at 11:46 p.m. and when officers arrived they found a cab driver arguing with a customer, identified as Omar Bamukhashab, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
The driver told police he picked up the man at the Crowne Plaza in Newton and drove him to Coolidge Avenue, but when he stopped the passenger got out and tried to walk away without paying, Lawn said. The fare was $13.40.
When police arrived, the passenger would not calm down, Lawn said
"Omar got loud and refused to stop yelling when officers asked him to," Lawn said.
Omar M. Bamukhashab, 20, of 131 Coolidge Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of fraud in hiring a taxi and disturbing the peace, Lawn said.
