Watertown Man Caught Allegedly Trying to Take Cell Phone, Clothes from Target

The 35-year-old man tried to hide the merchandise in a bag, according to police.

 

A 35-year-old Watertown man faces larceny charges after he allegedly tried to steal a cell phone and some clothes from Target.

Store security spotted the man, identified as Ralph J. Michaud, 35, take a cell phone, a pair of socks and a polo shirt and try to leave the store without paying, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

In total, the items were worth $295.59, Lawn said.

Ralph J. Michaud, of 87 Arlington St. Apt. 1 in Watertown, faces a charge of larceny of over $250, Lawn said.
