Watertown Police Catch a Cambridge Man Who Stole a Bicycle from Mt. Auburn Street

Police chased the man into Cambridge and found him hiding behind a bush.

A man flagged down police on Mt. Auburn Street after his bicycle was stolen from in front of his house on Sept. 7 at 2:31 p.m.

The suspect was described as a young black male, and police got a description of the bike, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. 

Police found the bike on Halworthy Street, located just over the line in Cambridge.

"A neighbor said he saw a man run through the yard that leads to a set of train tracks," Lawn said. "The suspect was found behind some bushes on Halworthy."

A 24 year old man from Cambridge will be summonsed to Waltham District Court for larceny over $250, Lawn said.
