Watertown Police Department Welcomes 4 New Officers

The four new officers completed their police academy training in September.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department:

The Watertown Police Department is pleased to announce the swearing-in of four new officers into its ranks. They are Officers Jason O’Brien, Officer Paul Whiting, Officer John Rocca and Officer Andrew Civetti.

The new officers attended the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Basic Police Officers Training Academy sponsored by the MBTA Police Academy. The new officers will participate in an extensive field-training program before receiving their final assignments with the Patrol Division. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Sept. 13, 2012 in the community room of the Police Station.

Officer O’Brien is a 2006 Graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend and holds an Associates Degree from Middlesex Community College. O’Brien also served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Officer Whiting is a 1999 graduate of Holliston High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Officer Rocca is a 2004 graduate of Minuteman Regional High School and served in the US Army. Officer Civetti is a 2006 graduate of Watertown High School and holds a Bachelors Degree from Lasell College. Offficer Civetti also served as a Public Safety Dispatcher for the Watertown Police Department. Officer’s O’Brien, Rocca and Whiting all served tours of duty in Iraq.
