Watertown Police Log: Man Punched in the Face, Window Broken at Liquor Store

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

July 3, 2:13 a.m.: Police received a call about a light pole that was knocked over on Lexington Street and three people were seen running down the street, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Police found the three men and found one had an arrest warrant. Brendan Shaughnessy, 20, of 92 Highland Ave. Apt. 2 in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Orange District Court for traffic offenses. No charges were made for the light pole because it did not sustain damage, Lawn said.

July 3, 1:16 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic situation on Nyack Street, Lawn said. Mark Murat Louis Jr., 17, of 63 Nyack St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

July 7, 10:52 a.m.: security stopped a man who bought a pair of sneakers, left the store and came back and stole three packs of socks worth $16.99, Lawn said. Eduardo R. Ruiz, 49, of 332 Hammond St. Apt. 2 in Waltham, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

Incidents

July 2, 1:19 p.m.: The owner of a 2008 Toyota returned home and discovered that someone broke into the car and took a watch worth $500 and a CDs, Lawn said.

July 3, 9:20 p.m.: A man came out of and ran into an acquaintance who punched him in the face, Lawn said. The man reported the incident to police but did not want to press charges.

July 3, 10:42 p.m.: An employee at parked her bicycle in the back alley and when she came out after work it was gone, Lawn said.

July 4, 1:32 p.m.: A teen tried to walk out of Sports Authority with a golf club hidden in his pants, but a store employee stopped him and the teen gave back the club and ran away, Lawn said.

July 4, 2:47 p.m.: A man reported losing his wallet at the on July 1, Lawn said. He placed his backpack on the dock and when he came back he discovered the wallet was gone.

July 6, 10:29 a.m.: A glass section of a shuttle stop at Tufts Health Plan was shattered, Lawn said.

July 6, 12:46 p.m.: A woman reported that a wallet was stolen form a bag while she was at the , Lawn said. The wallet contained $100 in cash, credit cards and a debit card, and someone withdrew $500 from her bank account.

July 6, 11:32 p.m.: The clerk at on Mt. Auburn Street was closing the store and a man knocked on the door. When the clerk did not answer he hit the door hard and caused the glass to spider, Lawn said. Police were called and found the man returning the store to admit to causing the damage. He agreed to compensate the store, Lawn said.

July 7, 6:57 p.m.: A woman left a bag in her 2002 Toyota Prius at the and her wallet was taken, Lawn said. Her ID and credit cards were taken and one credit card was used to charge $1,000 online.

July 8, 1:01 a.m.: The screen was pried off the rear window of a home on Robert Ford Road but no entry was gained, Lawn said.
