Watertown Police Log: Thief Takes Items from Fire Struck Business

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

March 25, 2:34 p.m.: Police went to Merrifield Avenue to check on the well being of a person, and while they were there they discovered the person had two outstanding warrants, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Amy Marie Snellman, 27, of 29 Merrifield Ave. Apt. 02451, was arrested on two warrants.

March 26, 5:46 p.m.: A woman tried to use an old receipt to take items off the shelf at Home Depot, Lawn said. Security spotted the woman was looking at her cellphone, onto which she had scanned a receipt. She had copper piping and a utility knife, worth $73.99, Lawn said. Hannah Jane Hazlett, 23, of 376 Ash St. in West Bridgewater, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

March 26, 6:46 p.m.: An officer ran the registration of a vehicle on Capitol Street and found that the owner had an arrest warrant, Lawn said. Jason B. Hancock, 30, of 20 Temple Road in Waltham, was arrested on a warrant out of Waltham District Court for driving with a suspended registration.

March 27, 10:27 p.m.: Police were called to Pleasant Street for a domestic incident, Lawn said. (Removed), was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

March 28, 1:08 p.m.: Police were called to Edenfield Avenue for a domestic incident, Lawn said. Mark V. Santamaria, 54, of 18 Edenfield Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

March 29, 5:25 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted a 1998 Toyota Tacoma and discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Emerson J. Corliss, 48, of 51 Highland St. in Dedham, was arrested on a warrant out of Waltham District Court for traffic offenses.

March 29, 9:38 p.m.: A man came into the police station and while speaking with officers they discovered that the man had a probation warrant, Lawn said. Peter Caira, 29, of 171 Chapman Street was arrested on a warrant out of Waltham District Court.

Incidents

March 25, 12:45 a.m.: Two men in black wee seen driving around a neighborhood in a pick up truck and appeared to be looking at homes in the area, Lawn said. A homeowner on Rutland Road noticed that four 4 x 8 sections of wooded lattice were taken from his backyard. In addition, the fuel door of a Nissan Pathfinder was damaged and would not close.

March 25, 11:40 a.m.: A Tappan Avenue resident told police that he never received a package delivered by UPS that contained his taxes, Lawn said.

March 29, 11:46 a.m.: A propane tank was taken from a grill sometime time in the prior two weeks from the back yard of a home on French Street, Lawn said.

March 29, 8:07 p.m.: A man went to workout at GymIt on Arlington Street and left his keys in a jacket inside an unlocked locker, Lawn said. After his workout he discovered his keys were gone and someone broke into his car, took his wallet which contained $200 in cash, credit cards, IDs. Two pairs of sunglasses were also taken.

March 30, 8:38 a.m.: Workers repairing Inner Strength Studios - one of the businesses on Main Street damaged in the three alarm fire - discovered that someone broke in and took a chop saw worth $800, a DeWalt table saw worth $400 and two screw guns worth $300 each, Lawn said.
