Watertown Police Log: Halloween Decorations Stolen, Couple Flees from Best Buy

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. 

Arrests

Oct. 17, 2:31 p.m.: Police were investigating another incident when they spoke with a driver who they discovered had an outstanding arrest warrant, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Keyanna S. Jackson, 24, of 22 Wentworth St. in Dorchester, was arrested on two warrants out of Boston District Court, one for receiving stolen property and one for traffic violations.

Oct. 18, 1:31 p.m.: Security at Target caught a woman trying to place various items in a carriage – worth $311.16 in total – and attempted to leave the store, Lawn said. Crystal P. McShane, 26, of 225 Winter St. in Norwood, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by asportation of over $100.

Oct. 18, 4:32 p.m.: An officer on patrol on Waverley Street stopped to let a young child cross the street, and while he was stopped a white Suzuki started driving out of a parking spot, Lawn said. The office yelled at him to stop, and the driver reportedly looked at him and kept going, Lawn said. The vehicle drove away into the streets in the neighborhood, but police found him and stopped him on Everett Avenue and the driver was arrested. Arkady Kuksin, 52, of 30 Stearns Road in Brookline, was arrested on charges of failing to stop for police, reckless driving, failing to yield and speeding.

Oct. 18, 5:03 p.m.: Police had an outstanding Department of Youth Services parole warrant and the suspect came to the police station and turned himself in, Lawn said. MacKenny Clereau, 17, of 46 Prospect Hill Road Apt. E in Waltham, was arrested on the warrant charge.

Oct. 21, 2:24 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic disturbance on Pleasant Street, Lawn said. Jorge M. Lemus-Gonzalez, 33, of 219 Pleasant St. Basement Apt. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Incidents

Oct. 15, 8:11 a.m.: Workers at the Mount Auburn Cemetery discovered someone broke into a construction fence around the greenhouse and pried open a tool box and took $2,800 worth of tools, Lawn said.

Oct. 15, 5:47 p.m.: Security at Target spotted a man put three iPhone covers in his pocket and tried to leave, Lawn said. They were worth a total of $121.97. A 16-year old boy from Newton will be summonsed into Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

Oct. 15, 10:43 p.m.: An officer patrolling in the lot behind the Watertown Free Public Library was flagged down by a worker who saw a young man spray paint a symbol on the electrical box behind the library, Lawn said. The suspect was described as a white male, 6-feet tall, wearing a grey sweatshirt and left on a BMX bike.

Oct 16, 5:38 p.m.: Someone stole a blue and white Trek bicycle worth $2,500 from a worker at Peter Fuller Rentals on Arsenal Street, Lawn said. 

Oct. 17, 9:10 a.m.: An officer on patrol spotted a window that had been broken at Tranquility Day Spa, Lawn said. The incident occurred sometime overnight.

Oct. 17, 9:23 a.m.: A Madison Avenue resident reported that someone took 15-20 Halloween decorations from the front lawn, Lawn said. Combined, they are worth about $300.

Oct. 17, 12:27 p.m.: Watertown detectives at Best Buy on another investigation spotted a woman in a black car parked in the fire lane, and she appeared to be nervous, Lawn said. A man came out and appeared to have something in his shirt and got into the car. When the detectives knocked on the car's window, the driver put the car in gear and sped out of the area, Lawn said. They were able to located the pair, and they discovered they had four Magic Jack computer phone adaptors worth $70 each. A 22-year-old Woburn man will be summons to Waltham District Court for larceny over $250, and a woman from Lexington will be summonsed for charges of larceny over $250 and traffic violations.

Oct. 17, 6:57 p.m.: The owner of Raymar Day Spa was in the back of the business and when she came back she noticed her wallet was gone, Lawn said. It contained credit cards, cash and personal IDs.

Oct. 18, 4:01 p.m.: A customer had an envelope with $600 in cash inside, and used $50 to pay for groceries at the Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street, but later realized she left the envelope at the store, Lawn said. Security tapes show a cashier take the envelope, put it behind a register and later take it, Lawn said. The money was returned and Stop & Shop will handle the incident internally.
