Watertown Police Log: Man Tries to Steal Laptop from Best Buy, Video Games Missing

Also this week, a stolen car recovered and Victoria's Secret merchandise taken.

Incidents

Jan. 2, 10:23 a.m.: After doing a store inventory, a manager at Victoria's Secret discovered that $1,035 worth of fragrances and lotions were missing from the sales floor, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The items went missing sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 2.

Jan. 3, 7:51 a.m.: The owner of a 2005 Honda Accord found that someone broke into the car and took a computer hard drive and a lock box, Lawn said. 

Jan. 5, 4:11 p.m.: A customer returned a laptop computer to The Geek Squad at Best Buy, and an employee discovered that the computer was replaced with an older laptop, Lawn said. The store found evidence on the hard drive that the computer belonged to a 26-year-old Newton man. He will be summonsed to Waltham District Court on larceny charges.

Jan. 5, 9 p.m.: A Waverley Avenue resident reported that $1,240 worth of games for X Box and Nintendo were taken from her home, Lawn said. There no signs of forced entry.

Jan. 6, 4:03 p.m.: A Honda that had been parked for more than a week at Everett Avenue and Bartlett Street was found to be reported stolen from Boston, Lawn said.
