Watertown Police Log: Cars Broken Into, 2 Shoplifters Caught at Stop & Shop

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

May 13, 10:06 a.m.: A man was spotted by store security taking items off the shelves of the natural food aisles at Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street and stuffing them in his jacket, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The man was stopped and had $95.94 of merchandise, Lawn said. Wenji Peng, 49, of 9 Broad Moor in Glastonbury, Conn., was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

May 13, 7:50 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Robert Ford Road, Lawn said. They also found a woman at the address had an arrest warrant in her name. James R. Sturtevant, 41, of 13 Oakley Road in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery. Lacey K. Sacca, 35, of 78 Winn St. in Woburn, was arrested on a warrant out of Woburn District Court.

May 14, 6:35 p.m.: An officer on patrol using radar was alerted by the license plate reader that a car had a revoked registration due to not having insurance, Lawn said. After he pulled over the driver and found he had a suspended license. David J. Deligiandis, 23, of 26 Dunedin Road in Wellesley, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving with a revoked registration.

May 16, 4:54 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Arlington Street ran the registration of a 2001 Acura and found the register owner had a suspended license and an arrest warrant, Lawn said. Christopher Barling Sawicki, 31, of 9 Swains Pond in Malden, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and a warrant from Brighton District Court for driving with a suspended license.

May 17, 9:12 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on King Street, Lawn said. Ronald William Chabot Jr., 46, of 23 King St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon - his foot.

May 17, 11:24 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Main Street, Lawn said. Thomas R. Svenson, 46, of 15 Loomis Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

May 19, 8:17 p.m.: Security at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street spotted a man putting a number of items in a shopping cart and attemped to leave without paying, Lawn said. The items were worth $707.31, Lawn said. Kevin Nguyen Chu, 37, of 118 Walnut St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of larceny of over $250.

 

Incidents

May 15, 7:45 a.m.: Someone broke into a 2002 Toyota Sienna parked on Harrington Street and rummaged through the car, Lawn said. A wallet containing credit cards and a license were stolen but later recovered in Belmont.

May 15, 5:59 p.m.: Somone borke into an unlocked car on Harrington Street and took an iPod Touch, Lawn said.

May 16, 5:46 p.m.: A Common Street resident came home and found an open package in her bushes, Lawn said. Someone had taken out three Watertown Strong T-shirts, which were left in the bushes, and three more empty packages were found, Lawn said.
