Watertown Police Log: Church Bingo Money Stolen, Thief Steals Airbag

Also this week, a $12,000 diamond ring stolen and a shoplifter chased down by police.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 31, 10:30 a.m.: Police caught a man being chased by security from Home Depot as he ran across Arsenal Street toward the Watertown Mall, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Store security spotted the man taking two drills – worth $199 each – out of their packaging and place them in a bag, before running out of the store. Jason Estano, a homeless 33-year-old man, faces charges of larceny of over $250 and he had a warrant. 

Nov. 2, 10:35 a.m.: Store security at Best Buy spotted a man take a $299 pair of headphones out of the box and walk out of the store, Lawn said. The man, identified as Jarred L. Brisbois, 19, of 53 O'Callahan Way in Lynn, was stopped and police charged him with larceny of over $250 and he had a warrant from Rockingham Superior Court in New Hampshire, so he was also arrested for being a fugitive from justice, Lawn said.

Nov. 3, 5:14 a.m.: Police stopped a vehicle on Galen Street at Watertown Street for having a defective taillight and discovered the driver had an arrest warrant in his name, Lawn said. Jeanrenald Baptiste, 54, of 264 Court St. in Brockton, was arrested on a warrant from Quincy District Court for traffic violations, Lawn said.

 

Incidents

Oct. 29, 11:56 a.m.: An employee at Things Remembered in the Arsenal Mall discovered that someone had taken $462 in cash out of her wallet, which she had left in the back room, Lawn said.

Oct. 30, 5:17 p.m.: A woman ordered a bottle of perfume and discovered that UPS had delivered it on Oct. 18, but she never recieved it, Lawn said. The perfume was worth $82.49.

Oct. 30, 6:10 p.m.: An employee at the St. James Armenian Church discovered that someone had taken $170 in cash from the church's bingo office, Lawn said. Police are investigating the incident.

Nov. 1, 4:46 p.m.: Someone stole a diamond ring worth $12,000 from a home on Warren Street, Lawn said. There were no signs that someone had broken into the home. Police are investigating.

Nov. 4, 4:30 p.m.: Somone smashed the rear passenger-side window of an Acura on Riverside Street, and stole the airbag, Lawn said. The airbag is worth $800.
