Watertown Police Log: Computers Stolen from Store, Motorcycle Vandalized

Arrests

July 9, 1:13 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Palfrey Street, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady. Nicholas Paul Upton, 33, of 72 Palfrey St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

July 10, 9:30 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Main Street, Grady said. Paul J. Short, 29, of 3942 Gateway Drive Apt. A4 in Philadelphia, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidating a witness.

July 11, 10:50 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Marshall Street, Grady said. Adam J. Knox, 31, of 27 York Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

July 12, 5:25 p.m.: An officer stopped on Mt. Auburn Street at Irving Street saw a black minivan creeping toward his car and it appeared the driver was rearranging some boxes in the van, Grady said. The officer shouted at the driver to stop and he did, but then the minivan began creeping again, so the officer pulled the van over and discovered the driver had a suspended license, Grady said. Michael V. Bagdasarov, 32, of 245 Main St. Apt. 32 in Watertown, was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving, failing to driver in the right lane and unsafe driving.

July 13, 12:30 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Main Street, Grady said. Keith O. MacEachern, 25, of 77 Gardner St. in Waltham, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

July 13, 5:03 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Carey Avenue, Grady said. Steven K. Haley, 45, of 74 Carey Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of assault, intimidating a witness and threatening to commit a crime.

July 13, 7:35 p.m.: An officer running radar on Charles River Road clocked an SUV driving about 49 mph in a 35 mph zone, Grady said. The officer stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver had an arrest warrant. Verna M. Avent, 43, of 26 Garden Lane Apt. 3 in Waltham, was arrested on a warrant from Quincy District Court for traffic violations and speeding.

 

Incidents

July 8, 10:23 a.m.: A door jam at Watertown Middle School was damaged, but no one got into the school, Grady said. It may have been vandalism.

July 8, 10:50 a.m.: The owner of Bangs salon reported that someone took $180 in cash from the store, Grady said. Police are investigating.

July 9, 5:45 a.m.: The front, glass door at Orramac on Galen Street was smashed and thieves took several computers, worth $5,700, Grady said. Police are investigating.

July 9, 9:26 a.m.: A Beechwood Avenue resident discovered someone tried to break into a side porch sometime between July 1 and 8, Grady said. The person could not get into the main house.

July 9, 4:21 p.m.: Someone cut the seat of a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Madison Avenue and slashed both tires, Grady said. The damage will cost $800 to $1,000.

July 10, 11:13 a.m.: The manager at Aldo Shoes in the Arsenal Mall reported that an overnight deposit had not been made in June, Grady said. The deposit was supposed to be for $945.

July 10, 7:38 p.m.: An employee at the T-Mobile kiosk at the Arsenal Mall reported that two phones were missing worth $650, Grady said. The employee believes they went missing on May 11 while the employee was doing a demonstration.

July 12, 10:40 a.m.: Someone broke into a Honda Accord while it was parked in a driveway on Hazel Street, Grady said. The car was left unlocked, and nothing appeared to be missing.

July 12, 2:14 p.m.: A man at the Watertown Library left his cellphone at his seat when he got up, and when he returned it was gone, Grady said. The phone is worth $100.

July 12, 3:15 p.m.: A 2008 Nissan Altima was broken into on Oak Street while it was parked in the driveway, Grady said. The contents of the car were tossed around and an iPod was missing.

July 13, 11:57 a.m.: Someone broke into a 2009 Hyundai on Boylston Street, Grady said. Nothing appeared to be missing. The car was left unlocked.

July 14, 3:48 p.m.: Two people jockeyed for a parking space at Target and they got into an argument, Grady said. Both went into the store and when the person who got the spot came out he discovered his 2013 Ford had been scratched.
