Watertown Police Log: June 18 to June 24

Cashier stole from Marshalls, man busted on second OUI offense and man stole sunglasses from doctor's office.

June 18, 1:12 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic disturbance on Maplewood Street, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Don J. Smith, 51, of 5 Maplewood St. in Watertown, was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery.

June 18, 10:27 a.m.: Police received information that a man wanted on a warrant was at a home on Grove Street, Lawn said. Edward Thomas Mann, 58, of 25 Morton St. Apt. B in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant out of Somerville District Court for daytime breaking and entering and trespassing.

June 19, 12:10 p.m.: Police served a warrant on Templeton Parkway, Lawn said. Jonathan S. Golden, 23, of 133 Templeton Parkway in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant out of Cambridge District.

June 20, 7:03 p.m.: A employee was allegedly caught stealing cash from the register, Lawn said. The employee was spotted taking about $300 out of her register from June 11 to June 14, store security told police. She is also accused of taking a pair of shoes and a bottle of perfume worth a combined $81.27. Angela Dee Walker, 35, of 22 Rowell St. Apt. 3 in Dorchester, was arrested on charge of larceny over $250, larceny under $250 and she also had a warrant out of Roxbury District Court for shoplifting.

June 20, 9:03 p.m.: A Watertown man was arrested after making an illegal maneuver in his car to avoid the lights at Waverley Avenue and Orchard Street, Lawn said. A police officer spotted the man driving northbound on Waverley Avenue and when he approached the intersection all the lights were red. The man then cut through a business’ parking lot at the corner and got onto Orchard without stopping, Lawn said. The officer discovered the man had no license and had a warrant. Hamlet Gaprielyan, 50, of 68 Carroll St. in Watertown, was arrested for unlicensed driving, emerging from a driveway without stopping and a warrant from Cambridge District Court for unlicensed driving.

June 21, 11:03 p.m.: An officer spotted a man on Cross Street who he knew had a warrant in his name, Lawn said. Avetis Chekmeyan, 19, of 221 Arsenal St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, was arrested on a probation warrant from Waltham District Court.

June 22, 2:03 a.m.: An office spotted a car parked in the parking lot behind the and when he went to investigate he found the driver had an arrest warrant, Lawn said. David L. Serrano, 29, of 137 Belmont St. in Everett, was arrested on a warrant out of Woburn District Court for traffic offenses.

June 22, 2:07 a.m.: An officer patrolling on Arsenal Street ran the registration of a car and found the owner had a warrant in his name, Lawn said. Robert Toomanians, 44, of 37 Pope Road in Acton, was arrested on a warrant from Somerville District Court for traffic offenses.

June 23, 2:07 a.m.: Police received a call about a potential drunk driver on Main Street heading toward Waltham. An officer saw a Nissan driving in the middle of the road, over the yellow lines, and weaving around and driving over 50 miles per hour, Lawn said. The driver was pulled over and a field sobriety test was given. Shawn P. Bonfilio, 34, of 243 Lake St. Apt. 22 in Waltham was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol – a second offense, speeding and driving to the left of center of the road.

June 23, 7:20 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic disturbance on Robert Ford Road, Lawn said. Mark S. Conti, 43, of 124 Brookline St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

June 24, 1:25 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic disturbance on Washburn Street, Lawn said. Natasha L. Marquez, 29, of 34 Washburn St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

 

Incidents

June 18, 1:12 p.m.: The owner of a 2009 Toyota Camry reported his car was scratched while parked in the parking lot of the on Watertown Street on June 16, Lawn said. The scratches were on the doors and quarter panel, and someone scratched “F- You” on the hood.

June 18, 4 p.m.: Someone broke into a 2012 Honda Accord parked on Summer Street and took two GPS devices, Lawn said. The car had been left unlocked.

June 18, 4:47 p.m.: security stopped a 15-year-old Newton resident after being observed taking nine CDs and six DVDs, Lawn said.

June 19, 2:42 a.m.: A resident spotted a man checking the doors of cars on Hovey Street and reported it to police, Lawn said. Officers fond a number of cars with the doors slightly ajar and the interior lights were on. The witness got a license plate number, and police are investigating.

June 19, 10:14 a.m.: A man went into the Watertown Eye Associates on Kingsbury Avenue and asked for information about prescription glasses. When a worker went back to get some information she came back and found six pairs of sunglasses were missing from a display.

June 20, 3:54 p.m.: A Garfield Street discovered someone had taken his rectangular glass patio table, Lawn said.

June 24, 3:46 p.m.: A four-foot wide section of vinyl fence was damaged at a home on Cypress Street. Lawn said. The damage may have been caused by a car backing into the fence.
