Watertown Police Log: Man Busted on 2nd OUI, Rash of Car Break Ins

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Aug. 6, 12:47 a.m.: A car drove down Mt. Auburn Street without its lights on and then drove through a red light, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. An odor of alcohol was detected on the driver’s breath. Nicholas M. Rossi, 28, of 110 Prospect St. in Marshfield Hills, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol – a second offense, failing to stop, marked lanes violation and motor vehicle lights violation.

Aug. 6, 2:50 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Spruce Street, Lawn said. Ian Erik Anderson, 36, of 82 Spruce St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of assault and battery, destruction of property over $250, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon – a laptop, and a warrant from Middlesex Superior Court.

Aug. 8, 8:34 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident in the front lot of the Watertown Mall, Lawn said. Raul A. Felipe, 27, of 53 Kingsdale St. Apt. 1 in Dorchester, was arrested on charges of assault and battery.

Aug. 9, 8:20 p.m.: Police were called to a domestic incident on Hunt Street, Lawn said. Emerson Fagundes, 34, of 12 Hunt St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness and malicious destruction of property over $250.

Incidents

Aug. 6, 9:43 a.m.: A car parked at the municipal lot on Wells Avenue, got scratched all the way around the car, Lawn said.

Aug. 6, 1:59 p.m.: A box of household items was stolen from a porch on Chester Street.

Aug. 8, 2:06 a.m.: Two windows were smashed by a brick at Bask Tanning on Arsenal Street, and a small amount of cash was taken.

Aug. 8, 8:03 a.m.: A brick was used to smash the front door of Monro Mufflers on Arsenal Street and the business office was rummaged through, but nothing was missing, Lawn said.

Aug. 8, 2:51 p.m.: Graffiti was sprayed on the rear of the building, a garage door and one of the outside walls of a business on Arsenal Street, Lawn said.

Aug. 9, 7:13 p.m.: A man left his belongings in an unlocked locker at Boston Sports Club and when he came back his wallet, two shirts and a bottle of protein was missing from his bag, Lawn said.

Aug. 10, 10:37 a.m.: A car was entered and rummaged through on Langdon Street, Lawn said.

Aug. 10, 10:56 a.m.: A car was broken into overnight on Langdon Avenue. Nothing was missing, Lawn said.

Aug. 10, 10:58 a.m.: While an officer was on Langdon Avenue, he was approached by another person about a car being rummaged through, Lawn said. Nothing was missing.

Aug. 10, 11:59 a.m.: Someone broke into a car on Appleton Street.

Aug. 10, 12:45 p.m.: The door of a vehicle was found open on Langdon Street. Nothing was missing, Lawn said.

Aug. 10, 2:25 p.m.: A car on Hillside Road was broken into and change was taken and a CD case with seven discs were stolen, Lawn said.

Aug. 10, 2:43 p.m.: The driver’s side door of a car on Hillside Road was found open, and $7 in loose change was taken, Lawn said.

Aug. 10, 4 p.m.: Sometime overnight two cars in the same driveway on Hillside Road was broken into and rummaged through. Nothing appeared to be missing, Lawn said.

Aug. 11, 12:55 a.m.: Officers found all the trashcans tipped over in Filippello Park and ran into a man who said that one of the trash cans was on fire and he tried to put it out, Lawn said. The Fire Department was called to put out the last of the blaze.
