Watertown Police Log: Man Busts Down Roommate's Door, Backpack Stolen at Mall
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Arrests
Sept. 24, 10:35 p.m.: Police were called to Melendy Avenue for an unwanted person, and when they questioned the man they found he had a warrant, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Gerard A. Vilarie, 24, of 947 Chestnut St. Apt. 2 in Newton, was arrested on a warrant from Newton District Court for driving an uninsured vehicle.
Sept. 25, 12:56 a.m.: Police found a man had a warrant after getting a noise complaint from Melendy Avenue, Lawn said. Daryl M. Spartichino, 44, of 31 Melendy Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Cambridge District Court for shoplifting.
Sept. 25, 5:45 p.m.: An officer on patrol did a registration check and found the registered owner of a car had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Cilissa M. Leroux, 26, of 78 Cherry St. in Waltham, was arrested on a default warrant from Waltham District Court for driving with a suspended license.
Sept. 27, 9:39 p.m.: An Elm Street resident called police when his housemate was trying to bust down his door because something was taken from the home, Lawn said. The housemate bashed the door so hard it broke. Michael C. Mancuso, 38, of 69 Elm St. Apt. 1 in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of malicious destruction of property over $250.
Sept. 29, 5:22 p.m.: Security at Stop & Shop on Watertown Street stopped a woman who had taken a variety of merchandise worth $391.49, Lawn said. Jacqui Demelo, 35, of 455 Totten Pond Road Apt. 2008 in Waltham, was arrested for larceny over $250.
Incidents
Sept. 23, 10:26 a.m.: A Lowell Street resident reported that sometime between Sept. 14 and 22, he noticed two jugs of money worth $1,200, an iPhone and some jewelry was missing, Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry.
Sept. 25, 4:57 p.m: Someone punctured a tire of a car parked in a driveway on Pleasant Street, Lawn said.
Sept. 28, 2:18 p.m.: A woman was shopping at Stride Rite at the Arsenal Mall, and she put her backpack on the floor while she was helping her daughter try on some shoes. When she looked back it was gone, Lawn said. It contained a wallet with credit cards and IDs, as well as an iPhone 3.
