Watertown Police Log: Man Caught with DVDs in Pants, Man Drives on Wrong Side of Street

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Dec. 27, 10:49 a.m.: Police got a call about a man refusing to leave a home on Westminster Avenue, and when they arrived they discovered he had an outstanding warrant, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Richard W. Kantor, 55, of 30 Westminster Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court for failing to appear in court.

Dec. 28, 1:28 p.m.: A man tried to take three DVDs from Best Buy by putting them down his pants and trying to leave the store, Lawn said. He was caught with items worth $64.97. Matthew J. Conti, 31, of 23 Avon Road Apt. A in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

Dec. 28, 3:19 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Cottage Street, Lawn said. Jason Diaz, 31, of 350 Cambridge St. Apt. 3 in Boston, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Dec. 29, 1:39 a.m.: An officer doing radar checks on Arsenal Street spotted a car driving completely on the wrong side of the street, Lawn said. The car was pulled over, field sobriety tests were given, and the driver was arrested. Seth Haladjian, 34, of 195 Chapman St. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving left of the center stripe.

Incidents

Dec. 27, 4:11 p.m.: Two teens were seen taking assorted clothing and put it into a bag at Marshall’s and tried to leave the store, Lawn said. The items were worth $232.81. A 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl from Brighton will be summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

Dec. 30, 12:30 p.m.: Overnight someone broke two windows at the Coolidge Variety and Deli on Bigelow Avenue, Lawn said. No entry was gained.

Dec. 30, 7:55 p.m.: A man discovered his snowboard had been taken from a common garage in his building on Whites Avenue, Lawn said. The board was worth $400.
