Watertown Police Log: March 5 to March 11

Sex offender did not register in town, a woman tried to sneak items out of Target in a stroller and a man was busted for OUI after striking a pole near Miller's Ale House.

Arrests

March 5, 4:39 p.m.: Police responded to an argument between a landlord and a tenant on Edgecliff Road, and discovered that the tenant had an arrest warrant in his name, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Lucas. G. Holmes, 40, of 81 West Cedar St. in Somerville, was arrested on a warrant out of Roxbury District Court for procuring alcohol for a person under age 21.

March 8, 7:36 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender, Lawn said. Police discovered he was in the area of Waverly Oaks Road in Waltham and went to arrest him. Donald D. Cavallaro, 35, of 23 Lexington St. In Watertown, was arrested on the probation warrant from Middlesex County.

March 9, 12:39 a.m.: A Toyota Corolla was spotted running a stop sign at Church and Common streets, and when the officer pulled the car over he discovered the driver had no license, Lawn said. Vadim Khachaturyan, 47, of 16850 Glades Road Apt. 2H in North Miami Beach, Fla., was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving and failing to stop.

March 9, 2:06 p.m.: Police went to Target on report of a shoplifter, Lawn said. The suspect allegedly took a stroller, put items inside worth a total of $329, and tried to leave without paying. Janessa A. Ramirez, 21, of 207 Woodrow Ave. Apt. 2 in Dorchester, was arrested on a charge of Larceny of over $250.

March 10, 11:56 a.m.: Police were called to Pleasant Street for a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Jean G. Lafontant, 44, of 67 Glendale Ave. in Brockton, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

March 10, 12:26 p.m.: Police were called to Main Street of a domestic disturbance, Lawn said. Stephen Jason Campbell, 22, of 63 Carey Ave. Apt. G3 in Watertown, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery.

March 11, 5:16 p.m.: An officer doing radar enforcement on Charles River Road spotted an SUV going 45 miles per hour, Lawn said, and when he pulled over the vehicle he found the driver had no license. Carlos Regalado, 25, of 99 Chestnut St. Apt. 2 in Waltham, was arrested on a charges of speeding, unlicensed driving and a warrant issued by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

March 11, 9:43 p.m.: A driver at Miller’s Ale House stuck a pole in the parking garage and a witness said he looked unsteady and possibly drunk, Lawn said. The man left but police located the man on Arsenal Street at Taylor Street. Field sobriety tests were given and he was arrested. Daniel W. Cronin, 54, of 105 Spruce St. in Watertown, faces charges of leaving the scene of property damage and driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

Incidents

March 5, 1:38 p.m.: A woman was caught putting items into her purse at Target and leave without paying, Lawn said. The items were worth a total of $80.03, and police summonsed a 43-year-old Watertown woman to court for shoplifting under $100.

March 6, 6:19 p.m.: A woman realized that she was missing jewelry worth $1,200 and was last seen on Jan. 7 when she had some people over, Lawn said. Missing are a white gold chain with a small white gold cross on it, a thick white gold chain with a row of diamonds and a thin gold band with a diamond.

March 6, 6:55 p.m.: A woman left her car at Target from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and she came out to discover a 15-inch long scratch on the side of her 2005 Subaru Legacy, Lawn said.

March 8, 1:38 p.m.: Someone tried to break into a Wheeler Lane home on March 7, Lawn said. The would-be burglar attempted to pry open the door, but entry was not gained.

March 10, 3:32 p.m.: A car parked at the Arsenal Mall was broken into and a purse was taken from the seat, Lawn said. The car had been left unlocked.
