Watertown Police Log: Rug Stolen from Domino's, Boys and Girls Club Vandalized

Also this week, woman tries to steal more than $500 in items from Target, someone attempted to cash stolen checks.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 11, 1:47 p.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Rangeley Road, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady. George P. Talambekos, 77, of 17 Rangeley Road was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery on a person over age 60 with a dangerous weapon – a sandal.

Aug. 11, 7:24 p.m.: Police serve a probation warrant on Green Street, Grady said. Daniel Edward Reilly, 19, of 14 Green St. in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation.

Incidents

Aug. 6, 10:41 a.m.: A girl’s bicycle was stolen from Melendy Avenue sometime between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Aug. 5, Grady said. The bicycle is a blue 20-inch bike with “Heartbreaker” written on the fender.

Aug. 7, 7:37 p.m.: Family members were removing the belongings of a resident of the Marshall Home who recently passed away, and one person realized he left his cell phone in the apartment, Grady said. When he went back it was gone. Investigators were able to activate the GPS on the phone and located it in an alley in Watertown Square, Grady said.

Aug. 7, 7:49 p.m.: Sometime in the early hours of Aug. 7 two vehicles and a house on Prentiss Street were egged, Grady said.

Aug. 7, 5:36 p.m.: Someone attempted to cash checks that had been reported stolen at on Watertown Street, Grady said. The checks were taken during a Newton break in.

Aug. 9, 12:59 a.m.: The manager of Domino’s Pizza on Arsenal Street reported that someone stole his Domino’s rug from outside the store, Grady said. It is reportedly worth $150.

Aug. 10, 9:14 a.m.: Someone used black and yellow spray paint to vandalize the side of the and the bleachers on the basketball court, Grady said. The Department of Public Works and the Boys and Girls Club cleaned up the graffiti.

Aug. 10, 3:50 p.m.: Between 3 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 10, someone dented a parked car on Prentiss Street with a blunt object, Grady said. It was the second vehicle damages on the street in the last week.

Aug. 10, 2:49 p.m.: A 2008 Honda Element was reported missing by , Grady said. The car, worth $15,000, went missing in the last 10 days, Grady said.

Aug. 10, 7:02 p.m.: Target security caught a woman trying to leave the store with $581.79 of merchandise, including clothing, Grady said. The 19-year-old Cambridge woman will be summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of larceny over $250.

 

Also this week: a burglar and stole items, and a man before escaping on foot.
