Watertown Police Log: Shoplifters Caught at Target in Three Separate Incidents

Also this week, a man busted on an OUI, a stolen car is found and a construction worker stole from the job site.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 27, 7:35 p.m.: An officer on patrol spotted a car commit a violation at Waverley Avenue and Summer Street, and pulled the car over. The driver had a warrant for unlicensed driving and still did not have a valid license, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Whakis Silva, 37, of 48 Newton St. in Marlborough, was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving, failing to yield and a warrant from Natick District Court for unlicensed driving.

Aug. 28, 11:51 a.m.: Target spotted a man remove tags from four wrist watches, a pair of sunglasses and a pair of boots and exit the store without paying, Lawn said. The items were worth $154.94. Ralph W. DeAngelis, 54, of 25 Bradbury St. in Allston, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting of over $100 by asportation.

Aug. 31, 3:13 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to School Street on a report of two men having an argument in a car. When officers checked the men’s records, they found one had two warrants in his name, Lawn said. Lucnor Pierrette Jr., 23, of 10 Shepton St. Apt. 3 in Dorchester, was arrested on two warrants.

Sept. 1, 12:43 a.m.: An officer spotted a car driving over the speed limit on Galen Street and weaving between lanes, Lawn said. The driver was pulled over and the officer detected an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath. Gary R. Chin, 31, of 222 Washington St. Apt. 8 in Brookline, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sept. 2, 2:34 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic disturbance on Capitol Street, Lawn said. Dawn M. Antonucci, 25, of 74 Capitol St. Apt. 2, was arrested on two counts of assault and battery.

Sept. 2, 10:59 a.m.: Belmont Police contacted Watertown Police about a man wanted for domestic assault and battery in Belmont who was located in Watertown, Lawn said. Kyle S. Lopes, 28, of 21 Heather Road in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Sept. 2, 5:40 p.m.: An officer on patrol ran the license of a Ford truck and found the owner had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Sidney Defreitas, 34, of 24 Patten St. in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Dedham District Court for unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Sept. 2, 7:16 p.m.: security stopped a woman who took $732.66 worth of merchandise and tried to leave the store, Lawn said. Keira E. Tom, 20, of 116 Parkview Road in Waltham, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting of over $100 by asportation.

 

Incidents

Aug. 28, 6:51 a.m.: Someone keyed the passenger side of a Ford Expedition that was parked in a driveway on Boyd St., Lawn said.

Aug. 28, 10:49 a.m.: A window at Salon Sama on Mt. Auburn Street was damaged by a BB, Lawn said.

Aug. 28, 5:59 p.m.: Someone spray painted graffiti on two houses and a businesses on Nichols Avenue, Lawn said.

Aug. 28, 8:20 p.m.: Target security noticed to men acting suspiciously and spotted one of the men putting two watches in his pocket and tried to leave the store, Lawn said. Security found the watches and other items, worth a combined $160.93. A 53-year-old man from Dorchester will be summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.

Aug. 30, 3:08 a.m.: A car was found on Phillip Darch Road with no license plates, Lawn said. The car’s VIN was run and police discovered the Audi was reported stolen from Boston in March 2012.

Aug. 30, 5 p.m.: A scanner that attaches to iPods was stolen from in the Arsenal Mall on Aug. 24, Lawn said. It was tracked down using GPS and police are investigating the incident.

Aug. 31, 10:20 a.m.: A man working for a contractor doing construction at on Arsenal Street stole $100 from a handbag, Lawn said. A 27-year-old man from Rockland will be summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of larceny from a building.

Aug. 31, 4:37 p.m.: The owner of a 1995 Volvo said someone stole the cover from the directional light while the car was parked on Fayette Street, Lawn said. The previous week the grill was stolen, the resident said.
