Watertown Police Log: Two Drug Arrests, Man Arrested for Sleeping in Mt. Auburn Club

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

Oct. 15, 8:12 a.m.: Police arrested Stephen B. Harte, 50, of 553 Main Street in Watertown on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Oct. 15, 12:15 p.m.: A strange man was spotted inside the Mount Auburn Athletic Club and when police arrived he tried to escape on a bicycle, said Waterotwn Police Lt. Michael Lawn. When the police cruiser approached the man turned into a driveway and then tried to open the garage door. The man was homeless and had broken into the club to sleep there and ate some of the snacks. The bicycle was reported stolen from Harvard University. Frederick J. Deminico, 30, homeless from Watertown, was arrested for breaking and entering for a misdemeanor, receiving stolen property under $250 and trespassing.

Oct. 15, 6:06 p.m.: Police arrested Thomas P. Bachli, 53, of 30 King Street in Watertown, on charges of violation of an abuse prevention order.

Oct. 15, 8:37 p.m.: Police arrested Kenneth C. Seacrist, 34, of 216 Highland Ave. in Watertown, on two warrants, one from Waltham District Court and one from Dedham District Court.

Oct. 17, 12:57 a.m. An officer spotted a Honda speeding on Arsenal Street. When the car was pulled over the officer smelled a strong odor of burned marijuana. Approximately four ounces of marijuana was found in the car. Alexander B. Petitti, 20, of 160 Pine St. Apt. 3 in Newton, was arrested on charges of possession of a Class D drug to distribute, and speeding.

Oct. 17, 12 p.m.: Police arrested Georges Helo, 45, of 60 Hovey St. Apt. 2 in Watertown, on a charge of domestic assault and battery, and a 29-year-old Somerville resident will be summonsed to court on charges of possession of a Class B drug and receiving stolen property, Lawn said.

Oct. 17, 11:25 p.m.: Police arrested Gary L. Stout, 59, of 537 Main St. in Watertown, on two counts of assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime.

Oct. 18, 9:45 a.m.: Two people were arrested at Repton Place in a domestic incident. Gumercindo Garcia, 29,, and Jesus Arizmendez, 24, both of 81 Heybon St. Apt. 3 in Lawrence, were arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Oct. 19, 9 a.m.: Police arrested Silvestre M. Ochao, 37, of 31 Lothrop St. Apt. 2B in Brighton, on a charge of unlicensed driving and a warrant from South Boston District Court of unlicensed driving.

Oct. 20, 3:46 p.m.: Police arrested Mohammed M. Eldes, 19, of 27 Gilbert St. in Watertown, was arrested on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon – a shod foot, and resisting arrest.

Oct. 20, 9:40 p.m.: Police served a warrant on a Watertown man and when they arrested him they found he had a bag that contained a substance believed to be heroin. Richard E. Kantor, 55, of 30 Westminster Ave. in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of possession of a Class A drug and a warrant from Waltham District Court for a probation violation.

 

Incidents

Oct. 17, 6:05 p.m.: Someone tried to break into a home on Westminster Avenue. The screws on a door were loose and it appears someone tried to force it open.

Oct. 18, 8:58 a.m.: A man kicked a glass door and broke it at the 7-Eleven in Coolidge Square after he was not sold a pack of cigarettes because he had an expired driver’s license. A 25-year-old man from Lynn will be summonsed to Waltham District Court on a charge of malicious destruction of property.

Oct. 18, 2:14 p.m.: A man put two power saws worth $268.28 in a cart and left the store. A 49-year old man from Dorchester will be summonsed to Waltham District Court for shoplifting over $100.

Oct. 18, 11:43 p.m.: Someone threw oil on a car parked on Bradshaw Street, and damaged a taillight.

Oct. 19, 8:56 a.m.: All four tires were flattened on a car parked in a driveway on Prospect Street, and it appears they were punctured.

Oct. 19, 5:45 p.m.: An iPhone 5S was taken from the Gap Outlet at the Arsenal Mall when a shopper put it down on a shelf.

Oct. 20, 11:50 a.m.: A package containing an iPad was delivered to a home on Sawin Street, but when the resident got home it was missing.
